Paper, clay, wood, gold luster
Mouthful resembles a mouthful of teeth that have had too many sweets. I chose teeth as the subject because I wanted to juxtapose my art with our current environment. With Covid-19 shifting our lives in many ways, one of the big things is not seeing people's smiles anymore. As simple as a smile is, it’s one of the easiest ways to connect with others.
When displaying my teeth tiles, I created bright colorful panels to mimic the appearance of colorful candy. I also chose to incorporate gold luster to give the illusion of previous cavities.
